Active Aerodynamics
Regulation of engine air intake helps to reach optimum temperature and improves aero dynamics.
Auto Start-Stop
Stops the engine whenever the car comes to rest and is taken out of gear, restarting when the clutch is depressed. Only available on four-cylinder manual transmissions.
Electric Power Steering
Using an electric motor saves weight and fuel and also allows assistance to be varied at lower speeds.
Brake Energy Regeneration
When braking or coasting, the system engages the alternator to charge the battery, recycling energy otherwise wasted.
Lightweight Engineering
Lightweight materials reduce the overall weight of the vehicle, enhancing driving dynamics and improving fuel economy.
Low-friction Fluids
Reducing fluid friction in an engine helps minimise wasted energy and, consequently, fuel consumption and emissions. May not feature on automatic models.
Optimum Shift Indicator
A small visual display on the car's dashboard shows the optimum gear for a more fuel-efficient driving style. Only available on manual transmission vehicles.
Reduced Rolling Resistance Tyres
Heat resistant, anti-distortion materials are used to reduce friction, therefore lowering emissions and improving fuel efficiency.
